William (Bill) Coluccio  possesses a unique blend of business experience, both as a successful entrepreneur and  an established Senior Executive with positions at several privately held and public companies. His  35 year career has spans both the domestic and foreign business arena.

As, a successful financial advisor and product specialist, Bill began wholesaling specialized “impaired-risk” life insurance products and services to a national network of insurance agents in 2001.

In 2003 Altium Group , an Insurance General Agency and Independent Marketing Organization , was created to market and distribute multiple lines of life insurance, annuities,  and long term care products to Certified Financial Planners, independent insurance agents and securities brokers throughout the United States.

Prior to founding Altium Group, Bill’s role as an entrepreneur enabled him to recognize business opportunities that he ultimately seized; and resulted in him  creating , building, and selling three businesses –  a chain of retail franchises, a telecommunications distribution company, and a seminar-based financial services firm.

Early in his career, Bill fulfilled a series of senior executive positions in some of the largest corporations in the world including the role of Special Advisor to Accenture, Managing Director for KPMG, Vice President of Investment Banking for Mitsui Bank, a Director position at the Geneva Corporation, and Assistant Controller for Philip Morris Companies.

As an Investment Banker, Bill has represented both public and private companies in the U.S.A., Japan, and Europe seeking strategic acquisitions. He has raised significant equity capital and successfully negotiated and structured the purchase and/or sale of many privately held businesses in the $10 million to $600 million dollar valuation range.

Bill is the author of several articles and seminars on such topics as mergers and acquisitions, succession planning of privately owned companies, and estate tax planning. Over the years, he has been interviewed and/or quoted in Fortune magazine, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Japan M&A Reporter, and the Los Angeles Daily Journal Law Business.

Bill received a BBA degree in Accounting and Finance from The Lubin School of Business at Pace University and an MBA degree in Taxation from the Pace University Graduate School. He is also an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, and the Council of Franchise Suppliers.

He lives in Holmdel, New Jersey, and is a proud father of a daughter and two sons;  and a very happy grandfather of two granddaughters.


Simon Baitler  – Managing Director

A Senior Executive with over forty years in the Insurance Industry, nineteen of them with Transamerica Life Companies, Mr. Baitler rose to the level of Chief Operations Officer for Transamerica Life Insurance and Annuity Company in 1978. He was responsible for the Group Life and Health Division and turned it around from operating at a loss, to a profitable business that was sold to Provident Life and Accident. He then served in several senior management and board positions, lastly as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the Transamerica Life Companies.

Mr. Baitler was responsible for a number of Transamerica Life Companies’ special ventures including: a mass marketing company, a broker dealership, a structured settlements operation and an insurance operation in New York. In addition, he was responsible for the Company’s Mergers and Acquisitions function and its Corporate Asset/Liability Management Division. During his management of the Merger and Acquisition function, Transamerica successfully divested itself of its group life and health insurance operations and its Australian subsidiary. When Mr. Baitler left Transamerica he was a member of the Executive Committee of the boards of all the Life Insurance Companies.

Prior to joining Altium Group, Mr. Baitler started a consulting firm where he acted as Strategic Advisor to national Insurance Carriers, guiding their Senior Executives in articulating a vision and a prioritized strategy to achieve that vision. He successfully assisted his clients in implementing the appropriate external elements of those strategies, which then led to significant mergers, acquisitions and divestiture opportunities, with a focus on alternative distribution organizations.

Mr. Baitler has served as an Operating Director of Arsenal Capital Partners as well as a board advisor to portfolio companies. Born in New York, Mr. Baitler received his Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Union College in New York. He has been a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.


Jeffrey Coluccio

Jeff oversees all aspects of Altium Group’s sales and product development. He is responsible for originating, structuring, and financing Altium’s investment and custom insurance products. Jeff manages the distribution of Altium Group’s investment and insurance products through a nationwide network of investors, financial advisors, and family offices.

 

Jeff is continually active in new product creation of custom indemnity products through the Lloyds of London Marketplace and several US based carriers.

 

Jeff started his career in finance at a top US hedge fund. Jeff holds a finance degree from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

 


Brian S. Kaplan

Brian Kaplan is currently the Regional Vice President of Altium Group, overseeing the Life Insurance operation. Brian has been involved in the Life Insurance industry for 15 years. He works with a wide range of producers in helping them fulfill their clients’ Life Insurance needs. Specifically, Brian has worked closely with the Life agents to grow their sales, assisting in advanced case design such as premium financing, deferred compensation, and split dollar sales. In addition, Brian has conducted seminars for his brokers on a variety of topics to help show areas of opportunity for them to grow their business. Brian began his career in the Life Insurance industry with The Hartford in 1995. Thereafter, he was with both New England Financial and Phoenix, working consistently as one of their top producers.

Brian received a Bachelor of the Arts from the Ohio State University. He holds Life and Health licenses as well as FINRA licenses Series 6 and 63.
